On Christmas Eve, Thursday 24 December 2026, Agnone renews the 'Ndocciata della Tradizione, the fire ritual that the town, in the province of Isernia in Upper Molise, repeats every year at dusk on 24 December. To the sound of the town's hundred bells, the district groups (Capammonde and Capabballe, Colle Sente, Guastra, Sant'Onofrio and San Quirico), made up of hundreds of bearers of all ages, light the 'ndocce, large fan-shaped torches of silver fir, and carry them on their shoulders along the main street. The procession ends in Piazza Plebiscito with the Bonfire of Brotherhood. Times and route are confirmed by the organisers.
